-- ADAM BIELAN ON THE WARSAW DECISION WITHIN DAYS, AND THE IMPORTANCE OF WINNING WARSAW FROM THE REPRIVATIZATION MAFIA: https://300polityka.pl/live/2018/03/16/

-- SENATOR JAN ŻARYN AT GDAŃSKI STATION DISCUSSES THE EVENTS OF '68, THE SOURCES OF ANTI-SEMITISM INCITED BY COMMUNISTS, AND HOW THE SENATE DIDN'T CONSIDER THE CONSEQUENCES OF THE LAW FOR RELATIONS WITH THE USA, STRONGLY CRITICIZING THE POLISH DEVELOPMENT FUND (PFN), mentions Polish Jobbik, and wonders why the state cannot apprehend those carrying Nazi banners during the Independence March: https://wiadomosci.wp.pl/jan-zaryn-w-kto-nami-rzadzi-jaroslaw-kaczynski-nie-jest-mieczyslawem-moczarem-6230422041938049v

-- HOW OLSZEWSKI TELLS ROBERT MAZUREK HE DIDN'T SUSPECT THE PRESIDENT HAD SUCH POLITICAL TALENT - IN DGP: “I met him when he was a very young man, a minister in Lech Kaczyński's chancellery, and I highly valued his administrative and legal skills, but I didn't suspect him of having such political talent. Kaczyński's choice turned out to be surprisingly accurate.”

-- JAN OLSZEWSKI TELLS MAZUREK THAT A REFERENDUM ON THE CENTENARY OF INDEPENDENCE IS A BAD IDEA: “More or less, I don't see major mistakes. Of course, I'm not satisfied with everything. For instance, raising the issue of a constitutional referendum and insisting on holding it on the centenary of independence is a bad idea.”

-- JAN OLSZEWSKI ADMITS HE MADE A MISTAKE BY BOYCOTTING THE 1989 ELECTIONS: “Incidentally, in 1989, I made a mistake by boycotting the vote. I underestimated the strength of the surge, the attitude, and the consequences for Poles. Because those were contract elections, and I was convinced that such an African model should be rejected. But Poles found a way to make their voices and will count. It was the rejection of the so-called national list…”

-- MACIEREWICZ COULD NOT HAVE BEEN DISMISSED WITHOUT KACZYŃSKI'S APPROVAL - SAYS JAN OLSZEWSKI IN DGP: “I think I said it clearly enough. Of course, Macierewicz could not have been dismissed without Kaczyński's decision.” http://wiadomosci.dziennik.pl/opinie/artykuly/570773,olszewski-mazurek-duda-kaczynski-macierewicz-wywiad.html

-- ON MARCH 28TH, THE SIGNING CEREMONY FOR THE PATRIOT CONTRACT WILL TAKE PLACE - Paweł Wroński in GW: “The PiS government will soon sign a contract with the USA for the delivery of the first two Patriot missile batteries. According to unofficial information, the ceremony is planned for March 28th. The price of the first batch is approximately 5.5 billion dollars.” http://wyborcza.pl/7,75398,23148604,rzad-kupi-patrioty-uroczyste-podpisanie-umowy-28-marca-cena.html

-- THE PRIME MINISTER WILL BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR ELECTION RESULTS - we write on 300POLITYCE: “According to our sources, the Prime Minister knows that after April 10th, the local election campaign will slowly begin, and the political calendar will require Morawiecki to enter a mode of consecutive local and European elections, which will be a prelude to the main parliamentary battle. The Prime Minister must be aware that the parliamentary base, having spent two years studying PiS's successive poll records and the opposition's misfortunes, has very high expectations for the upcoming electoral tests. The Prime Minister himself will be assessed by his own party on how he prepares and conducts the upcoming campaigns.”

-- A SUCCESSFUL RESTART DEPENDS ON THE PRIME MINISTER'S OWN DISCIPLINE - FURTHER ON 300: “However, a successful restart will depend mainly on the Prime Minister's own discipline, so as not to succumb to the temptation of making various journalistic digressions, which so far have dangerously brought him closer to the atmosphere of academic seminars than to the managerial style of 'closing' projects expected by observers.” https://300polityka.pl/news/2018/03/15/na-miesiac-przed-wstepem-do-trybu-kampanii-premier-robi-porzadek-i-wraca-do-gospodarki/

-- A COLLEAGUE OF MORAWIECKI'S QUOTED BY MICHAŁ SZUŁDRZYŃSKI IN RZ: “- After crashing into all these crises, losses couldn't be avoided – a Morawiecki collaborator tells me. – But imagine how much greater those losses would have been if someone else, not him, were Prime Minister.”

-- MORAWIECKI SHOULD FOCUS ON WHAT EARNED HIM RECOGNITION AS DEPUTY PRIME MINISTER INSTEAD OF SPECULATING - writes Szułdrzyński: “It's true, despite rapid wear and tear, PiS has no one else today who can take over the position of Prime Minister in the current situation or freely continue dialogue with Brussels or Berlin. Therefore, Morawiecki, instead of engaging in historical speculation, should focus on what earned him recognition when he was Deputy Prime Minister – the economy, and continue working to improve Poland's image abroad.”

-- MORAWIECKI WAS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE CRISES - Szułdrzyński concludes: “It must be said honestly that Morawiecki – apart from the Munich gaffe – was not responsible for these crises. He did not punish TVN, Beata Szydło decided on the ministers' bonuses, and he only learned about the problem with the IPN law the day after it was passed.”

-- MATSZEUSZ MORAWIECKI'S HUNDRED DAYS OF TORMENT - title of Szułdrzyński's article. http://www.rp.pl/Polityka/303159857-Szuldrzynski-Sto-dni-meki-Mateusza-Morawieckiego.html

-- HE WILL NO LONGER RAMBLE ABOUT HISTORY; AFTER SEVERAL MISHAPS, HE IS TO FOCUS ON THE ECONOMY AGAIN - title in Fakt.

-- SE ON HOW HIRING SOLVERE WILL HARM DWORCZYK - as Mirosław Skowron writes: “Minister Dworczyk reinstated employees after their company allegedly failed to cope with the free market without state contracts. The Minister claims everything is fine because there were no criminal consequences. Is it really fine? For many PiS voters, this may be the day when PiS became the new Civic Platform and the differences ceased to be visible. After the 'At the Sow' talks, there were no criminal consequences either…” http://www.se.pl/wiadomosci/opinie/miroslaw-skowron-wybory-miedzy-garstwem-a-hipokryzja_1044813.html

-- DWORCZYK SEES NO PROBLEM - AS SE REPORTS: “- I would sum it up like this. When there are no serious issues for debate, a substitute topic like this can always be found.” http://www.se.pl/wiadomosci/opinie/michal-dworczyk-to-byla-tylko-niezrecznosc_1044811.html

-- PR EXPERTS FOR COURTS RETURN TO GOVERNMENT - Agata Kondzińska and Iwona Szpala on the front page of GW: “Individuals known for the billboard campaign for 'fair courts' are returning in glory to rescue the government. They worked in the Chancellery of the Prime Minister and founded a company, which according to the Central Anti-Corruption Bureau (CBA) was a violation of anti-corruption law. What does the head of the CBA have to say about this?” http://wyborcza.pl/7,75968,23148603,czy-prezes-jest-zadowolony-z-premiera.html

-- PIS IS LOSING ITS INSTINCT - JACEK GĄDEK ON THE RETURN OF SOLVERE: “PiS is creating pointless crises for itself. To solve them, they hire media specialists who were themselves the cause of the crisis, and furthermore, the prosecutor's office is still investigating them. In an election year, before the first 'good change' verification, the ruling camp is losing the instinct that led it to victory in 2015.”

-- PIS HAS CAUSED ITSELF TROUBLE AND HAS TO EXPLAIN ITSELF - GĄDEK FURTHER ON SOLVERE: “However, instead of opening up to new people, the ruling party has regressed to hiring PR specialists who left in disgrace and are still being investigated by the prosecutor's office. This is a step backward. Instead of a new opening in government communication, PiS has caused itself trouble and has to explain the hiring of PR specialists.”

-- PIS COMMUNICATION IS INCREASINGLY LACKING INSTINCT, DISJOINTED AND INCOHERENT LIKE THE PRIME MINISTER'S SPEECH - GĄDEK'S CONCLUSION: “And it's hard to deny its validity: rebellion against communist rule is a cause for pride. The misinterpretation – whether out of ignorance or ill will – of his thesis was inevitable. The influential Israeli newspaper 'Jerusalem Post' quickly twisted the Prime Minister's words, writing that Morawiecki is proud of the anti-Semitic pogrom of '68. The Polish embassy intervened, but the misrepresentation still went out into the world. The Prime Minister's speech, translated into English, was missing from the Chancellery of the Prime Minister's website. It would have been quite difficult, anyway, as the Prime Minister's discourse was disjointed – he wasn't reading from a script. And PiS's communication is also like that: disjointed and incoherent. Increasingly lacking in instinct.” http://wiadomosci.gazeta.pl/wiadomosci/7,114871,23147466,pis-zatraca-instynkt-ktory-dal-mu-wygrana-w-2015-r-powrot.html#Z_BoxNewsLink&a=66&c=96

-- MONIKA OLEJNIK ON SOLVERE'S RETURN: “Individuals known for the billboard campaign for 'fair courts' are returning in glory to rescue the government.

-- PIS IS THE EASIEST PATH TO POLEXIT - OLGIERD ŁUKASZEWICZ in conversation with Jacek Nizinkiewicz in RZ: “The PAN report under the editorship of Prof. Jerzy Wilkin also speaks about this. PiS is hostile towards the Union, it devalues it, manipulates the message, uses state media to fight it. PiS's policy is the easiest path to Polexit. As an EU citizen, I do not agree with this!”

-- I DON'T SEE CIVIC PLATFORM PLAYING, A DIFFERENT LEADER IS NEEDED - OLGIERD ŁUKASZEWICZ FURTHER IN RZ: “I have many reservations about the PO chairman. He is an unconvincing actor. Let him look at himself, his image. Does this actor stand a chance on stage with his charisma? They send him to charisma school. I also send him. What did coach Górski say? Boys, play! I don't see Civic Platform playing. A different opposition leader is needed. Looking at PO, I am saddened like many Poles. There are communication problems there. But I don't want to talk about PO.” http://www.rp.pl/Polityka/180319544-Olgierd-Lukaszewicz-Jako-Obywatel-UE-nie-zgadzam-sie-na-PolExit.html

-- SCHETYNA PROMISED ADAMOWICZ A MINISTRY, BUT LET'S NOT JOKE, NO SERIOUS PERSON TODAY WOULD ASSUME THAT PO WILL BE IN POWER IN A YEAR AND A HALF - writes Andrzej Stankiewicz: “According to our sources from the circle of the Gdańsk mayor, Adamowicz announced his candidacy because he felt Schetyna was not taking him seriously. - Civic Platform made illusory offers to Adamowicz in exchange for him withdrawing his candidacy – one of his associates tells us. - They promised him second place in Gdańsk in the European Parliament elections. The catch is that polls indicate PO might only secure one seat. They also offered him a ministerial position after winning the parliamentary elections. But, let's not joke, no serious person today would assume that PO will be in power in a year and a half.”

-- SCHETYNA MAKES PROPOSALS TO LUBNAUER THAT ARE TRAPS - writes Stankiewicz: “Lubnauer is demanding presidential positions for her people, and Schetyna is mainly making her proposals that are traps. Initially, he checked in surveys whether Katowice, currently governed by the independent Marcin Krupa, a protégé of the long-time mayor Piotr Uszok (who was, incidentally, favorable to Civic Platform), could be taken back. Schetyna tested regional assembly councilor Jarosław Makowski, a theologian and commentator, former director of the Civic Institute, PO's think tank. - It turned out that there's not the slightest chance, only a few percent of respondents supported him – an influential PO politician tells Onet. In this situation, Schetyna proposed Katowice to Nowoczesna – it's speculated that MP Monika Rosa would run there as a joint candidate. But it's obvious she has no chance.” https://wiadomosci.onet.pl/tylko-w-onecie/klopoty-koalicji-platformy-i-nowoczesnej-przepychanki-o-kandydatow-na-prezydentow/b022l30

-- THE WORK OF A POLITICIAN SHOULD BE WELL COMPENSATED - Jakub Majmurek in GW: “Politics is a 24-hour job. There are no free Sundays and eight hours of rest, and rarely eight hours of sleep. There is no privacy. A government position can be lost overnight. Therefore, the work of a politician should be well compensated.” http://wyborcza.pl/7,75968,23148978,ile-powinien-zarabiac-minister.html
