"I have made the decision that I will run for the position of Mayor of Krakow. A city where I have spent my entire adult life. A city where I completed my studies. A city where I gave birth to my son," said Monika Piątkowska at a press conference.

"I am very proud and very happy about this, and I very warmly thank Prime Minister Donald Tusk and Deputy Prime Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz for deciding to support my candidacy," she continued.

"I am going to the Krakow City Hall as a manager, as a specialist, as someone who knows Krakow inside out. I have spent many years in the Krakow City Hall. I am going to Krakow as a city that is my only political party, which is the most important city to me," she went on to say.

Prime Minister Donald Tusk and Deputy Prime Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz also spoke at the press conference.

"I am very happy that without any problem, with Prime Minister Kosiniak-Kamysz and our partners from the Polish People's Party, we had exactly the same idea, and this idea turned out to be indisputably correct, because it also aligned with the aspirations of Senator Monika Piątkowska," said Prime Minister Donald Tusk.

"To step forward at such a moment and take on responsibility, having a plan for Krakow, for Krakow residents, for the development of our beloved city, it is only a source of pride to be able to support such a candidate," said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz.
