Friday's Political Agenda: Commemorating the 16th Anniversary of the Smolensk Catastrophe
Warsaw will host commemorations of the 16th anniversary of the Smolensk Catastrophe, with the participation of PiS leader Jarosław Kaczyński. A Roll Call of Remembrance is scheduled for 8:41 AM, followed by the laying of wreaths at Piłsudski Square.
Around 8:00 PM, the March of Remembrance will begin, proceeding from the Archcathedral Basilica to the Presidential Palace. At approximately 9:00 PM, a speech by PiS leader Jarosław Kaczyński is planned in front of the Presidential Palace.
President Karol Nawrocki will also participate in the commemorations, specifically in the aforementioned Roll Call of Remembrance. At 9:00 AM, he will lay wreaths before the monument of the late President Lech Kaczyński, and at 9:15 AM, before the monument commemorating the Victims of the 2010 Smolensk Tragedy. The final event will be a holy mass at 7:00 PM.
