- During the first three days of each month, for an unexcused absence of a Member of Parliament, meaning Mr. Zbigniew Ziobro, [...] we deduct 1/30 of the daily allowance for each day, we do not pay it out, and 1/30 of the salary. This means that during the first three days of the month, for being absent from a Sejm session, Mr. Minister Ziobro has 588 PLN deducted - Włodzimierz Czarzasty told journalists in the Sejm.
- Then, on each subsequent day of absence, meaning the fourth, fifth, sixth, depending on how many Sejm days there are in a given month, Mr. Ziobro has 3534 PLN deducted daily. And this process is ongoing without interruption from the moment Mr. Ziobro does not participate in the proceedings and this absence is unexcused - he explained.
- This continues up to the 18th day of the Member of Parliament's absence, up to the 18th day counted cumulatively over several months. January 21st marks the 18th day of Member of Parliament Zbigniew Ziobro's absence, so it will be on the first day of the next Sejm session. January 28th will be the deadline for the seven-day period to justify his absence - Czarzasty continued.
As he stated: - On January 29th [...] I will send a letter to the Chairman of the Regulations, MP Affairs and Immunities Committee, notifying them of the unexcused absences of Member of Parliament Zbigniew Ziobro for 18 consecutive days of Sejm sessions. […] The committee will forward its resolution on this matter [...] to me. From the committee's resolution, the Member of Parliament has the right to appeal to the Sejm Presidium within 14 days of its delivery.
- The committee can make the following decisions: draw the MP's attention, issue a reprimand to the MP, issue a censure to the MP. But if one of these three decisions is made, I have the option to submit a motion to the Sejm Presidium for the complete loss of parliamentary allowance and for a reduction of the MP's salary to 1/10 of their salary. And I will submit this motion to the Presidium meeting - announced the Marshal of the Sejm.
- If the Presidium makes such a decision, there will be a seven-day period for appeal, and after this procedure, if the decision aligns with my proposal, […] then from that day onwards, the Member of Parliament will receive a total monthly salary of 1350 PLN gross, meaning they will not have their allowance and will have 1/10 of their salary - he indicated.
