Nawrocki Addresses Rulers After Veto on DSA Act:
Let's Fix This.
- In this act [implementing the DSA], this pathological maneuver of "tacking on" has been used again. Provisions that make the entire act unacceptable have been appended to solutions that could genuinely protect children. That is why I say: veto - said President Karol Nawrocki in a recording published by the Chancellery of the President.
- However, I would like this to be treated as an appeal: let's fix this. We can prepare a fair draft within a month. In two months, we can have an act that protects children while respecting the Constitution - he stated.
- I invite the Ministry of Digital Affairs, as well as the organizations that have approached the President on this matter, to jointly prepare a good draft. Freedom of speech must be protected by courts - quickly, effectively, and independently. It is worth fixing this, it is worth doing it well. Let's not waste time, also for the sake of the youngest. Let's build a state of freedom, not a state of censorship - he emphasized.
