- Farmers are not taking to the streets just for themselves; farmers are taking to the streets for all of us. Because what is happening is a threat to the Polish agricultural sector, to the Polish countryside, and to food security. The agreement between the Union and Mercosur opens Polish agriculture to products from South American countries where completely different standards are applied, standards that do not apply to Polish farmers, for example, in the area of pesticides. The Polish government is unable to defend Polish farmers and claims that the agreement is not harmful to them - says Mateusz Morawiecki in the posted recording.

- If this version of Mercosur that we have on the table now comes into effect, it is largely safe from the perspective of Polish farmers - says Donald Tusk.
