Friday's Political Agenda: Ukrainian President's Visit, Tusk Continues at EU Summit, Czarnik and Morawiecki's Conference, Final Day for Sejm and Senate

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, will visit Poland. At 10:00 AM, a formal welcoming ceremony by President Andrzej Duda will commence, followed by a one-on-one meeting at 10:15 AM, and plenary delegation talks at 11:00 AM. A meeting with media representatives is scheduled for 11:55 AM.

At 1:10 PM in the Sejm, the President of Ukraine will be welcomed by Marshal Włodzimierz Czarzasty, and their meeting will begin at 1:15 PM. At 2:00 PM, Marshal of the Sejm Włodzimierz Czarzasty and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy are scheduled to lay flowers before the plaque commemorating Sejm deputies who perished during World War II.

Subsequently, around 2:00 PM, Marshal of the Senate Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska will meet with President Zelenskyy. It is not excluded that Prime Minister Donald Tusk will also meet with the Ukrainian leader. Friday also marks the second day of the European Council session, in which the head of the Polish government is participating.

PiS Conferences, Including Morawiecki and Czarnik

At 9:00 AM in the Sejm, a press conference will be held by PiS Vice-Chairmen Przemysław Czarnek and Mateusz Morawiecki, MEP Michał Dworczyk, and a group of PiS MPs.

At 9:30 AM, also in the Sejm, a press conference will be held by Michał Wójcik, Sebastian Łukaszewicz, Michał Woś, and Norbert Kaczmarczyk. At 11:00 AM – Anna Gembicka and Krzysztof Ciecióra, and at 11:30 AM – Andrzej Śliwka and Rafał Weber.

Kosiniak-Kamysz on New System Deliveries

At 9:30 AM in Warsaw, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz will participate in the signing of a package of agreements for the supply of reconnaissance systems, electronic warfare systems, and Leopard 2PLM1 tank simulators.

Final Day of Sejm and Senate Sessions

The Sejm will resume its deliberations at 9:00 AM with a government report on the implementation of the act on assistance to Ukrainian citizens in connection with the armed conflict in that country. Today, MPs will address several draft bills, but no votes are foreseen.

The Senate will also resume its deliberations at 9:00 AM. These are the final sessions of both chambers this year.

Furthermore, at 2:00 PM, the Pegasus parliamentary inquiry committee is scheduled to question the former head of the Central Anticorruption Bureau, Andrzej Stróżny.
