There Cannot Be Two Polish Positions on the Same Matter.

"Of course, at one point Prime Minister Tusk suggested to the President that all of Poland's assets should be utilized, and the relationship between President Nawrocki and President Trump is undoubtedly one of those assets," Jan Grabiec stated on TVN24 when asked if the government expects President Nawrocki to engage in talks with the Americans or European countries.

"First and foremost, one policy is needed. If the President, without consulting the government, announces some plan for changes to European treaties and claims to speak on behalf of Poland, despite knowing that according to the Constitution he doesn't have such competencies, it's difficult to talk..." he continued.

"There were no such talks [between the president and the prime minister or the minister of foreign affairs on this matter]; these declarations were made prematurely. According to the Constitution, foreign policy is conducted by the government," he further elaborated.

"According to the Constitution [...] foreign policy is conducted by the government, and Poland's position is expressed by the government or the president, but within the scope agreed upon with the government. There cannot be two Polish positions on the same matter," he added.
