Motion for Pre-trial Detention of Ziobro. Prosecutor's Spokesperson Details

Mateusz Nowak

- Today, the prosecutor filed a motion with the court for the pre-trial detention of the suspect Zbigniew Z. This is necessary to ensure the proper further course of this investigation - said the spokesperson for the National Prosecutor's Office, Przemysław Nowak, at a press conference.

- The prosecutor applied to the court today for the application of pre-trial detention for a period of three months from the date of arrest - he continued.

- From the obtained documentation, it appears that Zbigniew Z. does not have a permanent place of residence in Poland; this is also consistent with the defense counsel's statement. In itself, this circumstance could constitute grounds for a motion for pre-trial detention - he went on to say.

- However, above all, in this case, according to the prosecutor, [...] there is a well-founded fear that the suspect Zbigniew Z. will not voluntarily appear before the Polish prosecutor to be charged and potentially for further proceedings that the prosecutor deems necessary - he added.
