Indictment Against PiS MP: Prosecutor's Spokesperson Details Case

- A prosecutor has filed an indictment with the District Court in Szczecin in an investigation concerning irregularities in the Fundusz Sprawiedliwości (Justice Fund) against 8 individuals. Among the accused is MP Dariusz M. and two presidents of associations who collaborated with him - said Przemysław Nowak, spokesperson for the National Public Prosecutor's Office, at a press conference.

- This indictment concerns the so-called Szczecin thread, meaning the cooperation of MP Dariusz M. and two presidents of Szczecin-based associations with officials from the Ministry of Justice, one could say, in manipulating three competitions for grants from the Justice Fund - he continued.

- The funds obtained in this manner, totaling 16 million zlotys, were subsequently misappropriated by these individuals, acting jointly and in concert, in essence, by being spent in a manner inconsistent with the agreements - he elaborated.

- Dariusz M. has been charged by the prosecutor with committing a total of 6 offenses. The first three are related precisely to these three competitions. Two further charges are additionally connected with fictitious employment in the State Forests and obtaining benefits amounting to nearly half a million zlotys from this, and the sixth charge concerns money laundering, of part of the money originating from the crime to the detriment of the Justice Fund - he added.
