Kuźmiuk on the Lack of a 60,000 PLN Tax-Free Allowance:
Electoral Fraud, an Attack on Democracy.
- This coalition is, one might say, ashamed of its flagship electoral commitments. I am referring here to the proposal of a 60,000 PLN tax-free allowance - said Zbigniew Kuźmiuk at a press conference.
- Prime Minister Tusk spoke about this numerous times, and indeed, the man who governs in this building, Mr. Minister Domański, recorded an election spot with other Civic Platform politicians, in which he informed that if this amount came into effect, pensions up to 5,000 PLN and salaries up to 6,000 PLN would be exempt from income tax - he continued.
- This man has been governing for two years and has obviously failed to fulfill this electoral promise [...] what's more, in the autumn of '24, he sent a document to Brussels, a budgetary-structural plan, in which he committed that Poland, up to and including the year 2028, would neither increase the tax-free allowance nor even revalue the tax brackets - he went on to say.
- This is a classic electoral fraud, making an electoral promise with the intention of not fulfilling it. This is, one can boldly say, an attack on democracy, because if a political party makes electoral declarations, knowing that it will never fulfill this promise, it is simply deceiving the voters - he added.
