Saryusz-Wolski:

The Argument for Ukrainian Reparations from Aggressor Russia Can Be Used in Poland's Case for its Own Reparations

- The summit in Copenhagen, which concluded yesterday evening in its EU part, was dedicated to defense and also to Ukraine. What unites them is the European Commission's proposal, which was discussed, to establish a so-called reparation loan, based on the assets of the Russian central bank, held mainly in Belgium, and somewhat in Luxembourg, amounting to almost 200 billion euros, to issue eurobonds and redirect these funds to Ukraine for the purchase of weapons, note, EU weapons – said Jacek Saryusz-Wolski on Radio Republika.

- So, it's a somewhat perverted plan to help Ukraine with Russian money, and at the same time, to help arms industries, mainly German and French by implication. This was not decided at this summit, but it is to be decided at the formal summit [...] in Brussels in 3 weeks, and this is the direction it is heading – he indicated.

As he later stated: - The message from the conference in Copenhagen that Ukraine is entitled to reparations from the aggressor Russia is a line of reasoning that acknowledges this right and can be used in Poland's argumentation regarding its own rightful reparations.
