"Like It or Not." Tusk: The War in Ukraine is Our War

"This war is also our war. We often hear, both here in Warsaw and everywhere else on Earth, we often hear voices of people saying: no, this is not our war, it shouldn't concern us, let them kill each other or solve their problems themselves, it doesn't concern us, we don't want to pay, we don't want to sacrifice either our money, our time, or even more so the lives of our soldiers" - said Prime Minister Donald Tusk during the Warsaw Security Forum.

"But we must be aware, and it's not about whether someone loves Ukraine, or whether someone has bad or good experiences with Ukraine in history. This is not a question of ordinary, obvious, and necessary solidarity with a country that has been attacked by an aggressor; this is a question of the security and survival of the entire Western civilization" - he continued.

"This is our war because the war in Ukraine is only part of this gruesome project that appears in the world from time to time. And the goal of this political project is always the same: how to enslave nations, how to take away freedom from individuals, what to do to make autocracies, despotisms, cruelty, and the absence of human rights triumph" - he went on to say.

"Like it or not, this is our war, not only because of solidarity with those who are being attacked, but because of our fundamental interest. If we lose this war, because we must speak in the first person, the consequences will affect not only our generation, but also future generations in Poland, in all of Europe, in the United States, everywhere in the world, let's have no illusions about this" - he emphasized.
