- We did not surrender to the Soviet invasion in 1920. Nearly 22,000 of our elite were massacred. For 45 years, Soviet propaganda was instilled in us. They sought to strip us of both body and soul. And yet, here we are today - said President Karol Nawrocki in his address.

- Here we stand today, remembering, and we will never surrender our freedom and independence, but we must also do everything to ensure Katyń never happens again. Down with communism, long live a free and independent Poland - he continued.
