Sasin on Russian Embassy: 'If we're talking about an act of war, let's not search for peacetime procedures.'

"It's always the case that no one ever does everything they could, because eight years pass quickly – especially those latter four years, when we had to face many crises. However, this issue [of the Russian embassy] is truly important," said Jacek Sasin on RMF FM.

"The situation has also changed, because two years have passed since we were out of power. The escalation of the Polish-Russian conflict is very apparent, especially after the latest drone attack. There is probably no longer any doubt that Russia is preparing a whole series of aggressive actions against Poland," he continued.

"Yes, it will help [to seize the land under the embassy], because in our conviction, this embassy is currently also a huge spy center, situated in immediate proximity to Poland's most important offices: the President's Office – the Belweder – and the Chancellery of the Prime Minister," he went on.

"There are state mechanisms that allow for the expropriation of owners, also on grounds of national security," he added, when asked how such a seizure would take place.

"And is it a common procedure for Russian drones to enter Polish territory?" he remarked, when pressed on the idea that this would be an unprecedented procedure.

"If we are talking about an act of war, then let's not waste time now searching for procedures that apply in peacetime. We must respond to what is happening in an absolutely decisive manner," he stated, after the host suggested that drones on Polish territory constituted an act of war.
