– We are in Krzesiny, at the base where the Major served. [...] Investigative work is underway at Radom airport. Two teams, the prosecutor's office, and the Air Accident Investigation Commission are involved. These actions are being conducted independently to ensure a full clarification and presentation of the matter, including reports and conclusions, – said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz at the 31st Tactical Air Base in Poznań-Krzesiny, where Major Maciej “Slab” Krakowian, who tragically died yesterday during exercises preceding the Radom AirShow, served.
– I also wanted to be here today with the commanders, among the soldiers, pilots, and ground personnel who had the opportunity and honor to serve alongside the Major. They had the privilege of together acquiring skills, enhancing their qualifications, supporting each other, forging friendships, being together, defending Poland, and serving Poland, – he continued.
– I was scheduled to be here today to welcome our allies from the Kingdom of the Netherlands, who had just landed in their F-35s. They will support us in the mission of protecting Polish airspace as part of an allied NATO mission. But of course, that plan was changed. I wanted to be here with the commanders and everyone serving at the base, especially those who had close contact with ‘Slab’ – he added.
