"– I wanted to confirm this once again, because a lot of fake news has been appearing, inspired by Russia, and then picked up by either fools or some saboteurs in Poland who claimed that some units were being prepared for deployment to Ukraine – this is utter nonsense. We will not send them," said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz in an interview with Piotr Kraśko on TVN24's "Fakty po Faktach."
As he explained: "– Firstly, we have tasks on NATO's eastern flank. We are constantly defending the eastern border of the EU and NATO against hybrid aggression from Russia, conducted via Belarus. This involves 5-6 thousand soldiers constantly."
"– The second reason: Poland has the task of logistical support. If European or American troops were to conduct an operation in Ukraine, it cannot be done without Poland. Today, 95% of aid to Ukraine passes through Poland. [...] We must make [...], preparations related to logistics, logistical and infrastructural support – this is something we have been discussing for months," he continued.
"– The third thing: provocation. It would be easiest for the Russian side to provoke Polish soldiers. That would be the primary target – to incite provocative aggression, or perhaps carry out some serious act of sabotage on Ukrainian territory, aimed not at Ukrainians, but at Polish soldiers," he indicated.
"– These are the three reasons that, in my opinion, our allies understand very well. In fact, not just in my opinion – I know they understand them," he added.
