Błaszczak:

Public Finances Collapse 'A Fact,' Deficit 'Catastrophic'

– Today, it can be said that in Poland, under Donald Tusk's government, the collapse of public finances has become a fact. The information regarding the budget execution for the first 7 months of this year is dramatic. The state budget deficit amounts to almost 157 billion PLN after 7 months – Mariusz Błaszczak said at a press conference.

– State budget revenues are lower by almost 60 billion PLN. Corporate income tax (CIT) revenues are falling. It has been announced that 80,000 people will be affected by group layoffs, which is twice as many as in the entire year 2024 – he continued.

– The deficit is catastrophic if we compare the deficit for 7 months of '25 with the full-year deficit during the last year of the Law and Justice government. I would like to remind you that back then it amounted to almost 85 billion PLN – he went on to say.

– This catastrophe in public finances negatively impacts the situation of funds allocated for national defense – he added.
