Tusk at the Construction Site of Poland's Largest Railway Tunnel:
A Very Good Day for Polish Railways and Polish Dreams.
"This is a very good day for Polish railways and for Polish dreams, for the dream that everyone in Poland will feel that this is our railway. Our railway, because it will become increasingly accessible to all residents of our homeland, in various parts of our country. It is our railway, because it is our time" - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk in Małopolska, at the construction site of the largest railway tunnel in Poland.
"At this moment, we have undertaken this great challenge so that Poland, after we built, and continue to build, but when the investment peak for expressways and motorways was reached, we became one of the leading countries in Europe in terms of roads, now it is our turn for Polish railways to also become a model for everyone" - he continued.
"This is a great undertaking. It's about connecting the entire region; people who live here every day know what a torment it is to get to, for example, Krakow. We are currently implementing a project thanks to which the train journey from Nowy Sącz to Krakow will take an hour, instead of the current 2 hours and 20 minutes, in the best case scenario, even with the fastest trains, but on average it's 2 hours and 40 minutes. This means an absolutely qualitative change in life for tens of thousands of people in this region and for the entire region, its development opportunities" - emphasized the head of government.
