Duda:
Speaker Hołownia Proposed a Meeting with Me, but It Didn't Happen. I Understand He Withdrew.
- Actually, the Speaker himself proposed the meeting, during the time when these latest government changes were being made here at the Presidential Palace, the Speaker approached me, saying it would be good to meet even before the new president's inauguration, and then we initially agreed that we would meet [...] the proposal really came from the Speaker, not from me - President Andrzej Duda said in a conversation with Bogdan Rymanowski on the program "Gość Wydarzeń" on Polsat News.
- Later, there was the Speaker's famous interview, which, in my opinion, made the meeting not only necessary but even essential, because I wanted to discuss it with him, but today we heard that despite the fact that the Monday date was confirmed in the meantime, the meeting did not take place - he continued.
- Yes, that's how I understand it [that Speaker Hołownia withdrew from the meeting]. The invitation was extended, and it was clearly formulated, the Speaker spoke with me personally, so I think he understands that he received an invitation - he went on to say.
- The facts are that the meeting did not happen, even though I was ready, I was convinced that the Speaker would come to me this morning, but it didn't happen, so I asked if other times were possible, and it turned out that there would be no meeting - he added.
