Tusk on the recounting of votes:

You know the prosecution’s statement. I consider the matter closed.

- In my opinion, it was important to allow both the courts and, further on, the prosecution to recount votes where justified and fundamental doubts arose regarding potential irregularities – for example, in those commissions where commission members directly reported that something was seriously wrong - Prime Minister Donald Tusk stated on TVN24’s „Fakty po Faktach” (Facts after Facts). - It turned out well because what depends on me, to some extent, as the Prosecutor General is a member of the government, is that where experts – but experts appointed by the Minister of Justice, the Prosecutor General – identified those commissions where the abuses could have been truly worrying, there the prosecution led to the recounting of votes - he continued. - As you know the prosecution’s statement on this matter, in its assessment, it did not influence the election results. Therefore, I consider the matter closed - he indicated. - I understand the emotions, I myself experienced those emotions. It was very unfortunate that ambiguous situations occurred in so many places, and I was surprised that from the very beginning some – including those most interested, namely the President-elect, PiS leaders – raised such a terrible outcry that someone intended to recount votes where irregularities had occurred. Well, one must - he continued.
