Tomczyk:

Accountability Should Proceed Faster

Michał Olech

It seems to me that it is quite obvious that these nominations and changes show that in the areas where these changes have occurred, either a different management style, acceleration, or some new stage is needed - stated Cezary Tomczyk on the program "Gość Radia ZET", when asked about changes in the Ministry of Justice. - Are you asking if I expect the accountability process to accelerate? Of course, I do - he continued. - Madam editor, I will give you an example. We have the issue of former minister Macierewicz, right? For 9 months, together with a team of officers under the command of Colonel Błach, a report was prepared that showed issues of neglect and potential crimes - he summarized. - I piloted this program or project. It took 9 months, cost a lot of people's work. It was a total of several cubic meters of materials, tens of terabytes of data that had to be reviewed and described. A report was created from this. Based on this report, 41 notifications were sent to the prosecutor's office, which concern, among others, minister Macierewicz. These documents were sent to the prosecutor's office 7 months ago. A month ago, or a few weeks ago, the first motion to lift Macierewicz's immunity was filed. Do I think these cases should proceed faster? Yes, I think they should proceed faster - he continued.
