Deputy Prime Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz has signed an agreement for the United States to provide Poland with a loan guarantee under the Foreign Military Financing program.

According to the Ministry of National Defence (MON), under the program, the USA will grant Poland a credit guarantee amounting to $4 billion, with these funds earmarked for the modernization of the Polish army.

"This is another great moment for Poland – a confirmation of the strongest Polish-American alliance in history, of Polish-American friendship, of our transatlantic relations, of Poland as the United States' best friend in Europe. Trust is placed in friends, help is given to friends, guarantees are given to friends," said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz.

"Once again, we are receiving guarantees from the US government, confirmed by a decision of the US Congress. We are very proud of this, very grateful. We are ready to utilize these funds in the best way we can for the transformation and modernization of the Polish army, for building the strongest defence capabilities in Europe," he continued.

"A meeting with the Secretary responsible for Foreign Military Financing – a program that is absolutely amazing, an extraordinary program on a global scale, and Poland is its biggest beneficiary. There is no other country in the world like it. This means that this friendship is authentic and confirmed by facts," he indicated.
