Political Retributions Interest People Far Less Than Living Safely and Comfortably." Duda Addresses Ministers
- As I present you with these nominations, thank you for your work so far, and wish you success in fulfilling the missions you have undertaken, I want to say one thing: I believe that beyond, as I mentioned a moment ago, the fundamental matter of security, the security of the Republic, that hard security [...] it is also extremely important to have this security, understood more broadly, meaning this life security – said President Andrzej Duda during the ceremony of changes in the Council of Ministers.
- People, in addition to physical security, probably expect this most, simply that they will have a comfortable, reasonably good, and peaceful life. Peaceful also in terms of whether it will be a prosperous life, whether there will be work, whether they will have to consider leaving the country again [...] these are the fundamentally important issues, I think, for everyone, and this is what people think about primarily – he continued.
- Please, while holding your offices, keep in mind that this is precisely the ordinary, simple, human assessment. I think that in essence, most of our compatriots do not concern themselves with political matters daily, they do not listen very carefully to politicians' statements, their disputes, discussions, their rhetorical clashes. They primarily look at how they are living – he went on to say.
- This is precisely the everyday reality, I think, based on which our compatriots most judge us later when they go to the polls, and this is what we are held accountable for. And as the outgoing President of the Republic, I ask that you remember this. Disputes, clashes, some political retributions, I think, interest people far less than whether they live safely, whether they live comfortably, and whether they are affected by these basic, most serious worries – he added.
