- I am very grateful for these four years of service on the section of the Republic of Poland's eastern border, where we border Belarus. […] I thank all Border Guard officers, soldiers, and Police officers for their support and the incredibly heroic defense not only of our border, our security, our countrymen, fellow citizens, but also for the defense of the EU and Schengen Area borders. For showing that we Poles take our duties within the European community seriously - said President Andrzej Duda during a gathering of soldiers and officers serving on the Polish-Belarusian border.
