Temporary Border Checks: Tusk Announces Decision
Consideration of the Border Guard's request regarding the necessity of temporarily reintroducing controls on the Polish-German and Polish-Lithuanian borders. At the request of the Border Guard, the Ministry of Interior and Administration is preparing the relevant regulation. We have made a decision and I wanted to inform the public and all ministers that we are reintroducing temporary controls on Poland's borders with Germany and Lithuania. The decision was made today and, for organizational reasons, will come into effect on Monday, July 7th - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk during a government meeting.
