Tusk Announces "Emergency Plan" in Evening Address

- Regardless of how we assess the winning candidate, their victory must be acknowledged, and their voters congratulated. Which I hereby do. I also thank the loser for their determination and for fighting for every vote until the very end. I want to declare to all of you today that I will not stop for a moment as the Prime Minister of the Polish government in my work and in our shared fight for the Poland we dreamed of at the dawn of independence – a free, sovereign, secure, and prosperous one. The presidential elections have not changed, and will not change anything here - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk in a recording published on social media.

- In accordance with the constitution and my own conscience, we will cooperate with the new president wherever necessary and possible. I am aware that it may be more difficult than many of you thought when you went to vote yesterday. But this does not in the slightest degree change my determination and will to act in defense of everything we collectively believe in - said the head of government.

As he emphasized: - An emergency plan, assuming a difficult cohabitation, has been prepared. It is difficult to assume in advance what the new president's stance will be. If they show a willingness to cooperate, it will be a positive surprise, to which we will respond with full openness. If not, there is no longer anything to wait for. We will get to work regardless of the circumstances, because that is why we were elected. We will submit ready draft laws, but if necessary, we will govern and make decisions even with a president attempting to block good changes. We already have experience.
