– Military service should be based on the fundamental principle of voluntariness. The National Defence Act allows for compulsory military service in wartime. I want a safe Poland, without war, which is fulfilling its tasks, including in the Ministry of National Defence, and we are aware of the declining dynamic of enlistment in the army and the Territorial Defence Force. This is a real problem for today's army. There are fewer and fewer recruits – stated Karol Nawrocki during the debate.

– What has happened in recent days also requires comment. We are in a situation where effectively my main opponent, Rafał Trzaskowski, did not have the courage to appear for the debate, and afterwards, parts of the public and two conservative television stations were excluded from reporting such a debate.
