– I would like to today earnestly appeal to Mr. President to sign the act as soon as possible, preferably today, which will enable us to temporarily suspend the right to submit asylum applications. The pressure on the border with Belarus, organized by Lukashenko, this migratory pressure, is rising again, probably due to the weather – Prime Minister Donald Tusk said in a statement before departing for Brussels.

– Our services, the border guard, the army, the police are of course fully mobilized there. I will soon go to the border, also to check the latest infrastructural investments that have taken place there, but one of the key, political decisions that can limit the influx of these migrants [...] will be the awareness that in Poland, one cannot submit an asylum application if the border is crossed illegally – he continued.

– We already have decisions from the government, the Sejm, the Senate, we are just eagerly awaiting Mr. President's signature [...]. I hope someone will advise the President that it is worth doing this as soon as possible. After obtaining the President's signature on the act [...] we will immediately implement the government regulation [...] which will cause those crossing the border illegally to be unable to submit an asylum application – he went on to say.

– The content of the regulation is ready; if Mr. President decides to sign today, tomorrow, this weekend, at the next government meeting on Tuesday, this regulation will be adopted and implemented – he added.
