– I would very much like Poland to be the leader of European Union-United States relations when I become president; this is how I will perceive Poland's role in the European Union. Therefore, I am deeply concerned that Donald Tusk is not seizing the moment when Poland holds the presidency of the Council of the European Union – Karol Nawrocki said at a press conference.

– I also discussed this with Prime Minister Meloni, because from public information, we know that Prime Minister Meloni wanted to organize such an European Union-United States summit in Rome. As I say, I would like such a summit to take place in Warsaw, but considering the security of all European Union countries, I believe that such a summit should happen – he continued.

– If Prime Minister Meloni fills the European gap left by Prime Minister Donald Tusk's actions, by not taking advantage of an important opportunity, then of course, it will be good for the security of the European Union – he added.
