Sejm Discusses Lowering Health Contributions: PO MP States Entrepreneurs Will Be 'At Least a Little Satisfied'

Krystyna Skowrońska from Civic Platform presented in the Sejm the report of the committee on the government's draft bill on healthcare benefits financed by public funds, which aims to lower the health contribution for entrepreneurs.

– The progressive nature of paying health contributions has been maintained, while simultaneously reducing them for the majority of entrepreneurs – the rapporteur MP argued, pointing out, among other things, that individuals earning income from business activities exceeding 1.5 times the average salary will still pay a portion of the contribution dependent on their income.

– The National Health Fund, under this solution, will receive lower revenues, estimated in the regulatory impact assessment, by the amount of 4 billion 626 million zlotys [...] the minister replied that this shortfall [...] will be supplemented by budget revenues – Krystyna Skowrońska continued.

– The expectations from entrepreneurs who pay health contributions are even greater, but this is the second step [...]. As the rapporteur MP, I would like to recommend to the high Sejm the adoption of the above draft bill [...] it will serve Polish entrepreneurs well, and they will be at least a little satisfied – she emphasized.
