- I will not comment on healthcare, as that is not my area. I can talk about the judiciary and possibly electoral matters - said Sylwester Marciniak at a press conference before the meeting of the National Electoral Commission (PKW), when asked about Izabela Leszczyna's morning statement. - The statement by the current Member of the European Parliament, formerly an MP, and also very recently the chair of the justice committee and a member of the National Council of the Judiciary [Kamila Gasiuk-Pihowicz], has outraged not only me but many other people - he stated, likely referring to a post on X where the MEP called him "Kaczyński's lackey". Referring to the words of the Minister of Health and the MEP, he said: - It should be noted that it did not bother them when they received certificates confirming their election as MPs or MEPs, but when they do not like some action by the PKW here, they criticize. - On the other hand, I would like to point out that European standards, thus referring to the MEP's statement, indicate the independence of electoral bodies and judicial independence. That is all, by way of comment - he continued. As he added: - I think that the PKW will continue to be an independent, apolitical body, it will not be guided by any directions or recommendations from people holding political office.
