 In Gliwice, I spoke about a Poland that is equal and cohesive. This is one of my most important priorities, and of course, communication exclusion is very closely linked to this. This is because these 140 cities that are on the list, which are losing their socio-economic functions, when you talk to the residents of these cities, they speak precisely about communication exclusion being a huge problem. The fact that they cannot get to work, or often to a doctor, often stems precisely from this - stated Rafał Trzaskowski at a press briefing in Warsaw. “Kaczyński promised” - I remember exactly when President Kaczyński promised that the situation would change in 4 years, he promised that every village in Poland would have 2 km to the nearest bus stop, that there would be 5 connections daily to the nearest district town, and 10 connections from each district town to a provincial capital. Unfortunately, this promise has not been fulfilled. There are dozens of district towns that do not have as many connections as PiS promised - he continued. “This must change” - This must change if we seriously want Poland to be cohesive, if we want to eliminate these inequalities. Fortunately, PKP has taken this up in the past year; we have 10% more connections, 50 more trains. Warsaw is connected to cities in the eastern part of the country, new connections to Białystok, from Przemyśl, from Lublin, new stops on these railway lines, including precisely in cities that are on this list - emphasized the Mayor of Warsaw. “I promise you this” - If we want Poland to be fully cohesive, then this work on communication exclusion and connecting these cities must be much more dynamic. I promise you this, because a president should be a patron of such solutions if they want to fight for Poland to be cohesive and equal. I propose strengthening the provincial governors, so that they are responsible for eliminating all kinds of communication barriers - said Trzaskowski.
