- I tell everyone here, because I won’t hide it, that most leaders are now focused on Poland and somewhat on me, in the sense that we are very engaged in helping Ukraine, we hold the presidency, so it’s obvious they want to orient themselves somewhat towards Poland and our proposals - Prime Minister Donald Tusk told journalists in Brussels.
- I warn all of them: don’t announce publicly that someone will send troops, until there is a clear definition of what the security guarantee for Ukraine will entail, if there is an armistice, a ceasefire, or a peace treaty. Let's primarily listen to Ukraine on this matter - he continued.
“Everyone is waiting to see if American initiatives will emerge”
- We Poles can be proud of the fact that everyone at the table repeats our doctrine of “nothing about Ukraine without Ukraine,” so this is also very important, but everyone is also waiting to see if any American initiatives will emerge after the change of power in Washington - the prime minister continued.
- I am cautious and believe there is no reason for easy optimism, that there are easy solutions here, but this discussion was very serious [...] maybe two, at most three voices were, I would say, characterized by so-called realism, meaning “let’s not exaggerate, Russia is strong,” I won’t say who spoke like that, but history is calling - he added.
