Duda on Appointing Święczkowski as Constitutional Tribunal President:

I Had No Doubts He Possessed Full Qualifications.

- I am extremely pleased that I can present this nomination after selecting from two candidates proposed to me, a judge who will be tasked with leading the Constitutional Tribunal for the coming years. Thank you very much, Mr. President, for undertaking this task, for participating in the competition, and also for accepting this nomination - said President Andrzej Duda during the ceremony of appointing Bogdan Święczkowski as President of the Constitutional Tribunal. - In making this decision to choose you for this extremely important and serious office, especially in times of various political upheavals and battles that are currently taking place, where the issue of the rule of law, compliance with the Constitution by state institutions, but above all by the persons responsible for these institutions, is of fundamental importance for the future of the Republic of Poland, as well as, very importantly, for its stability and security - he continued. - Therefore, this position requires a person who not only knows how to make decisions, who is not afraid to make decisions, but above all, who has great managerial experience in institutions whose operations are not easy. And Mr. President has such experience - he went on to say. - In my personal opinion, you have carried out all the tasks entrusted to you over the years, in various difficult situations, excellently. Therefore, I had no doubts that you possess absolutely full qualifications and experience necessary to perform the function of President of the Constitutional Tribunal as best as possible - he added.
