Nawrocki Appeals to the Government:

Poland Needs a Museum of the Volhynian Massacre Victims.

Michał Olech

Poland needs a Museum of the Volhynian Massacre Victims, it needs this museum and this place to build awareness of the truth about the actions of Ukrainian nationalists, but also to not let us forget about the over 120,000 victims. Those who came before us, Poles. The Volhynian genocide was a cruel, neighborly crime that requires care and the cultivation of memory - stated Karol Nawrocki at a press briefing in Chełm. The establishment of this museum is also essential for us to build our future relations with the Ukrainian state and to build these relations on truth. Chełm needs this museum, Poland needs it, but Polish-Ukrainian relations also need this museum - the candidate continued. The current executive authorities, the Prime Minister, the government, are not ready to meet with the President, with local government officials, but also with social activists, which shows that this matter, despite its importance, is not being treated in the way it deserves - Nawrocki emphasized. Therefore, I appeal from this place to the Prime Minister, the government, the Ministry of Culture, that you do not squander this social energy and the fight for historical truth and give the city of Chełm the opportunity to complete an investment that is so important for Poland, for Poles, for the city of Chełm, and for our relations with the Ukrainian state - he added.
