An Independent Ukraine Means a Safer Poland and the Entire West. If Ukraine Loses, We All Lose
- All the discussions throughout our day revolved around one fundamental issue: the security of our continent, our region. The threat we face is coming [...] it is very important to talk about this. It is the Ukrainians, by resisting Russia, who make the rest of us safe and make a catastrophic scenario less probable - said Prime Minister Donald Tusk at a press conference following a meeting of the prime ministers of Nordic and Baltic countries.
- Our group is aware that our support for Ukraine is something of a very selfish nature, a very rational and pragmatic nature. It is not just about values, it is not just about ideas, it is not about us wanting to support the right to freedom and independence for our Ukrainian friends [...] an independent Ukraine means a safer Poland, a safer Sweden, Norway, Europe, and the entire West - he continued.
- We cannot falter in our support for Ukraine. It must be clear, if Ukraine loses, we all lose. [...] Our capitulation or lack of support for Ukraine is an obvious way to deepen the crisis and increase the risk for all of us - he went on to say.
