Sejm Debates Leszczyna's Dismissal. Sójka to Tusk: Take Responsibility for Your Minister and Apologize to Patients
- Everything that Minister Leszczyna has touched with her magic wand, the same wand she mentioned before the elections, testifies to the reasons for her dismissal. [...] The tenure of Izabela Leszczyna as Minister of Health is a disease that has been afflicting the Polish healthcare system since Donald Tusk appointed her to this office - said Katarzyna Sójka during the Sejm debates.
- Minister Leszczyna is responsible [...] for the lack of social dialogue with medics, she insults doctors, she is deaf to the opinions and advice of experts [...]. Dismissing national consultants during their term just to appoint her own. [...] This year at the Ministry of Health has been primarily a year of inaction, idleness, delays, and dismantling. You came unprepared, without a plan. Patients have the right to have expectations, and this year has been lost for them - she continued.
- Three weeks ago, Prime Minister Tusk publicly declared that he would take political responsibility for the serious and difficult conversations that must lead to a more balanced healthcare system in Poland. This is precisely the moment, this is precisely the conversation - she went on to say.
- Take responsibility finally. Take responsibility for your minister and her scandalous dismantling of the healthcare system. Take responsibility for Leszczyna's faults and apologize to patients, and hand over this ministry to people who care about the well-being of Polish women and men - she added.
