Kosiniak-Kamysz:
EU Allocates Insufficient Funds to Defense; Poland Will Advocate for Change During its Presidency
Unfortunately, in my opinion, the European Union is still allocating too little to defense, and we will strive to change this during Poland's presidency, so that the new European Commission allocates significantly more [than 11 billion]. However, the Armaments Agency, along with our partners from several European countries, will participate in joint procurement and joint actions for 155 mm ammunition, stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz at a press conference.
Today, we need to build defenses against threats, not just react with delays, as unfortunately is often the custom of the [EU's] large bureaucratic machinery. Therefore, we are interested in increasing these funds. We are pleased with the successes of the Armaments Agency and our international partners in the procurement of 155 mm ammunition, and Poland will participate in this. We count on an increase in the pool of funds so that Piorun [missiles] can be included in this group, he continued.
