I don’t need to remind anyone that these talks [in Budapest] were heavily focused on the situation in Europe and individual European states in the context of the US election results, the situation on the Ukrainian front, and also the risks associated with the decreasing competitiveness of the European economy, mainly due to energy prices – stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk at a press conference in the Chancellery of the Prime Minister.

What was striking, a bit differently than in some places here, everyone was very serious. Regardless of anyone’s political sympathies, who wished victory to whom in the USA, what their attitude was towards the war in Ukraine, everyone without exception was very serious and the discussion was very mature – he continued.

There is no doubt that the new political landscape presents a serious challenge for everyone, especially in the context of a potential end to the conflict, the Russian-Ukrainian war, as a result of an agreement between the President of Russia and the new President of the USA. This was also widely discussed as a certain possible scenario, perhaps not in the coming days, but in the coming months – added the head of government.
