Siewiera Responds to Stróżyk Regarding Document Handover:

Lack of Legal Basis.

Michał Olech

- I received the words spoken at that conference, fragments of which were sent by my colleagues, with great surprise and complete disapproval, this thesis concerning the hiding of documentation, but also another, some form of cooperation or granting such - said Jacek Siewiera in a conversation with journalists.

- Both the Presidential Chancellery (KPRP) and the National Security Bureau (BBN) are institutions subordinate to the President. Indeed, two letters arrived at the BBN office - in July and August - with a very generally formulated request for the knowledge held within the BBN regarding Russian and Belarusian influences in several different areas, defense, planning. Collegium Humanum was probably even mentioned there - he continued.

- After consulting with lawyers, I responded to the two letters with a refusal to provide or send any information due to the lack of a legal basis. Because the BBN is not an entity supervised by the Prime Minister, and an ordinance does not constitute a legal basis. General Stróżyk is well aware of the reason for the refusal - added the head of BBN.

- There is readiness for cooperation, and the BBN can share documents, it must when it is obligated to do so, if they are indicated and there is a legal basis for it, and here there is none - he emphasized.
