- On Tuesday morning, I had a very long conversation with the Prime Minister. I spoke about various threats and challenges associated with the adoption of this [migration] strategy, especially in the context of the suspension of the right to asylum - Adam Bodnar said on “Gość Radia ZET”. - What I think was important is that during the Council of Ministers, also at my request, an amendment to this migration strategy was adopted. An amendment which states that appropriate laws should take into account parliamentary control mechanisms, the protection of vulnerable groups, and the experiences of other countries - here, in a strict sense, we tried to refer to the experiences of Finland - he continued. “A solution that is an attempt to get out of the situation.” Bodnar on the Finnish law Referring to the aforementioned vulnerable groups, he explained: - For example, people with disabilities, women, pregnant women, children… […] The Finnish law […] takes into account that if these individuals appear at the border, appropriately trained, prepared border guards should notice that they belong to these vulnerable groups and these individuals should simply be admitted. - I believe that this is a solution that is an attempt to get out of this situation - on the one hand, to stop those groups that destabilize the situation at the border, and on the other hand, not to leave those seeking protection without the possibility of applying for asylum - he stated.
