This is some fatal mistake.

The Prime Minister's announcement in recent days regarding the non-granting of political asylum will not serve to seal our border and limit illegal migration. On the other hand, it all indicates that it will prevent representatives of, for example, the Belarusian political opposition from finding refuge in Poland, and yet Poland was and is, and I hope will continue to be, a country of freedom and solidarity – stated President Andrzej Duda during an address in the Sejm.

- Poland has a centuries-old tradition of supporting the freedom aspirations of other nations and providing refuge to people who fight for freedom. Meanwhile, in line with the changes announced by the Prime Minister, many people persecuted by the Lukashenka regime will not be able to find refuge in Poland - PAD continued.

- Let's say it directly, Putin and Lukashenka are trying to destabilize the situation on our border, in the EU, and the state's response to this is to deprive of safe refuge people whom Putin and Lukashenka throw into prison and persecute, this is probably some fatal mistake – he added.
