Current Inflation Level Exceeds NBP Target, But Sources Are Mostly Independent of Monetary Policy

- The current level of inflation exceeds the NBP's inflation target, but we are aware that the sources of this growth are overwhelmingly independent of monetary policy. The NBP has no influence on administrative and regulatory decisions concerning energy prices. Similarly, we have no influence on decisions regarding public sector wages - said Adam Glapiński at a press conference. - However, we must carefully monitor whether these factors do not pose a risk to medium-term inflation prospects - he continued.
