PACE Immunity Should Not Protect Romanowski from a Fair Trial

- Given that Mr. Romanowski is facing criminal charges in his country, the PACE and immunity should not protect him from a fair trial. The national parliament already revoked his immunity, back in July of this year. Revoking immunity does not mean someone is guilty of anything. On the contrary, it is a way to prove in court that a person may be innocent – stated Ryszard Petru during a session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.
