- A very important topic that is unfolding these days, and is also the result of our close cooperation with the President, is the draft bill on population protection and civil defense. On Thursday and Friday, the first reading of this project will take place. This week, the committee is already set to begin working on this project. This is a major revolution in the approach to population protection and civil defense – stated Tomasz Siemoniak at a press conference.

- I want to emphasize that the entire philosophy of this project is based on self-government. It is the cities, municipalities, districts, and also voivodeships that are to play a fundamental role in building this system. There are very precise guidelines and solutions regarding shelters and places of refuge. I am counting very much on very close cooperation with the capital city of Warsaw, as the tasks related to shelters and places of refuge will be most significant here. Significant funds, amounting to 0.3% of GDP, will be allocated annually to population protection matters, and above all, starting from next year, a strong push will be made for the construction of shelters and places of refuge – he continued.
