Defense Spending, Border Wall, and Nuclear Sharing: PiS Presents Three Security Initiatives

- We wanted to present you with three initiatives from the Law and Justice parliamentary club related to ensuring the security of our homeland, meaning three initiatives within our "Yes to Security" program. Prime Minister Jarosław Kaczyński spoke about this last Sunday at the Law and Justice convention, seven "yeses," and these three new initiatives are part of those postulates - said Mariusz Błaszczak at a press conference. - The first of these is an increase in defense spending. This is a draft bill prepared [...] proposing an increase in defense spending to 5%. [...] We believe that the amounts spent on defense should be increased further, especially since the war raging on our eastern border is still ongoing. [...] The second initiative [...] concerns a draft bill on the construction of a barrier on the border with the Kaliningrad Oblast. [...] The third initiative [...] is a resolution prepared and submitted today, obligating the December 13th coalition government to undertake negotiations regarding Poland's inclusion in the Nuclear Sharing program. Having nuclear warheads on our territory will undoubtedly be an important argument for deterring an aggressor - he continued. - We are submitting all three projects shortly, namely two draft bills, one concerning amendments to the Act on the Defense of the Fatherland increasing defense outlays to 5%, the second concerning construction, this is also an amendment to the act based on which the barrier on the border with Belarus was built, this act will be amended to provide a basis for the construction of a barrier on the border with the Kaliningrad Oblast, and the third project is a draft resolution obligating the government to effectively ensure Poland's accession to the Nuclear Sharing program - he added.
