Buda:

Zero VAT on Food Should Be Maintained for at Least Another Year

- It cannot be the case that VAT is lowered on other, exclusive products, while it is raised on those that affect the poorest. Food constitutes 27% of the expenditure basket of the poorest households - said Waldemar Buda on Polsat News. - We cannot allow inflation to fall for 14 months and then, through a decision to increase VAT on food, we raise this inflation. No [VAT on food should not be restored] at a time when there is a gigantic problem with disposable income today [...] food generates inflation at the level of 1% of all products. [...] Until now, inflation was generated, one could say, by 'Putin-inflation', whereas this is the first decision that raises inflation by the decision of the Polish government - he continued. - In my opinion, it should calmly be maintained for at least another year because it supports the poorest households - he added.
