Wednesday's Political Agenda: President Appoints Tusk's Government, Senate Session, First Investigative Committee Meeting, 42nd Anniversary of Martial Law, EU-Western Balkans Summit

At 9:00 AM, in the Presidential Palace, the President of the Republic of Poland, Andrzej Duda, in connection with the resolution passed by the Sejm of the Republic of Poland, will appoint the Prime Minister and the Council of Ministers.

At 11:00 AM, a one-day session of the Senate will commence. The agenda – for the time being – includes the second reading of a draft resolution on the 42nd anniversary of the introduction of martial law in Poland, and the second reading of a draft resolution concerning amendments to the Senate's rules of procedure. A press briefing by Marshal Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska is scheduled for 10:55 AM.

At 11:00 AM, the first session of the investigative committee to examine the so-called envelope elections will take place. The agenda includes the election of the committee's presidium.

At 12:00 PM, in the Presidential Palace, President Andrzej Duda will present state decorations to anti-communist opposition activists on the 42nd anniversary of the introduction of martial law in Poland.

At 2:00 PM, a session of the parliamentary committee for special services will be held.

At 3:30 PM, one year after the summit in Tirana, EU leaders and leaders of the Western Balkans will meet in Brussels. The summit will be an opportunity to confirm the European perspective of the Western Balkans, as well as the need to achieve sustainable and irreversible reforms, based on EU values and principles.

At 7:30 PM, in Warsaw, President Andrzej Duda, at the Papal Cross, will light the "Light of Freedom" on the 42nd anniversary of the introduction of martial law in Poland.
