Politico has announced the results of its annual ranking, which identified the most influential politician in Europe. Donald Tusk won it.

"For twenty years, two men have been battling for the soul of Poland. In the blue corner, fighting for a democratic, modern, European vision of the future: Donald Tusk, a former prime minister who served as President of the European Council, and then returned to the position of leader of the centrist opposition; in the red corner, fighting for traditionalists, Catholic conservatives, nationalists: Jarosław Kaczyński, the leader of PiS. Each man had a chance to shape Poland in his own image, only for the other to turn back the clock. Now, after eight years of Kaczyński's rule, the country stands on the brink of a new Tusk era, and the wind of change is blowing again" – writes Politico.
